  Advice from the MuseumTour expert:
Children will love seeing dinosaur bones emerge before their eyes as they use realistic excavation tools to dig them out. This hands-on activity develops fine-motor skills while building an interest in paleontology and teaching prehistoric facts.
You DIG, she DIGS, we all dig DINOS.

I DIGTM Excavation Adventures let kids become modern day dinosaur hunters and archaeologists! Using steel tools, kids dig through dust free Dinostone rock to unearth replica dinosaur bones. Easy assembly and included paints give discoveries a classic museum finish.

We sent this to our nephew (who is eight) for Christmas. According to his parents (and independently verified by his grandparents) he really enjoyed excavating the bones as well as assembling them. We have also given to a five-year-old friend, but he has yet to do it, so I do not know how easy it is for a five-year-old. It looks so cool that I can hardly wait to get the whole set for my daughter next Christmas when she will be almost five. Truth told, my husband and I were thinking of getting one for ourselves to have a try.

You may not use my name or initials to quote me. The kit was a great success. Recepient, 6yearold boy had 'dug' at a friend's and really wanted this for Christmas. It was a complete success, from the goggles and tools to the very satisfying hammering, to the final painting. I appreciate your more interesting toys and will use your catalog and the reviews of the toys more seriously in the future. In a world filled with junk toys and hype, it's a wonderful help to a gift giver to have such information.

The whole family got into the digging of the dino. It was great fun. The dino skeleton went together easily, but we ended up using a little glue to keep it together. My kids loved painting them after the dig. The first one was so much fun we bought a second one and will by them again.
