This is a sophisticated set, not for children under 12 unless they are truly advanced. The kit can be used just for fun to build a car or winch. My son used it for his science project in grade 6, comparing the power generated by the fuel cell at different temperatures. The project was interesting, came up with reliable and reproducible results, and required use of algebra to calculate the power. The kit also teaches about using electrolysis to separate water into oxygen and hydrogen. Recommended. One caustion: the booklet that accompanies the set was originally written in German, so the grammar can be convoluted and unclear at times.

Please keep your baseless attitudes about politics out of children's toys!

We are interested in the toy itself, not your snide political statements. Get a life!

    Dear Ms. Eichinger:
your company is doing an important job in teaching kids about science. All the more it is important to be accurate and to avoid popular misconceptions.
The statement that the fuel cell car "runs on water" is highly misleading, as is the statement that the fuel cell "is an earth friendly energy PRODUCTION device. This reinforces the superficial attitude of the administration that the energy problem will find easy solutions. The car of course runs on hydrogen which is PRODUCED BY SOLAR ENERGY.
