This is a good product and makes great potholders. One note, it takes a lot of patience and dexterity. Getting the looms woven together is pretty easy. Finishing the potholder by looping the ends inside of each other is trickier as they tend to fall off of the hooks as you get to the end. If you buy this for a 6 year old make sure they're either extremely talented or will have some help to finish their products.

This loom and the loops are very high quality and will result in a quality product for the child either to keep or give as a gift. There are very clear and thorough directions with suggestions for weaving patterns and for products other than the simple pot holder. I love the vibrant colors of the loops.
