Introducing Brian the Brain!

Your search for an ideal roommate stops here! Brian the Brian is an interactive artificial intelligence neural life form with a cool and hilarious personality plus massive brain power. This next generation interactive intelligence really gets to know you. His massive brainpower boasts voice recognition technology, MP3 compatibility, side-splitting jokes, mind-boggling trivia, fun facts, games, room guard, plus a whole lot of stuff that makes hanging out with Brian super cool! When you need help with that tough homework question, when you want to hear a funny joke or play a game, when you want to listen to some tunes, when you have to make a call, when you need a friend – Brian the Brain is there! Brian the Brain really gets to know you and customizes his interactions based on what you like to do, need to know, or like to play… imagine the possibilities!

Play Pattern

Brian the Brain is meant to be a kid's "digital roommate". Not traditional by any means, Brian uses sophisticated computer components and programming to create an interactive play experience unlike anything available today.

Play with Brian relies on the interaction between the child and the toy - both verbally and via the text input. Complete programming and artificial intelligence ensures that Brian prompts the right responses from the child and "talks" in a natural, life-like manner. All Brian's outputs are verbal, utilizing a high-end text-to-speech software program.

Brian gets to know his new buddy through a series of personal questions that he asks during play sessions. Separated into groups of 3, these questions are all about the child - his friends and family, likes and dislikes, favorite foods etc. During chat sessions, Brian then uses the answers he was given to personalize his discussions: "Hey Steve, why don't we call your buddy Mark and go get us some of your favorite dessert, chocolate ice cream!"

Brian the Brain is a great balance between real, educational-based content and just plain fun stuff! For homework help, the Concise Encyclopedia from Brittanica™ and dictionary are invaluable, while the jokes, trivia, games and chat functions make for endless hours of play. Brian will even keep the busiest kids organized with his built-in schedule planner.

At any time during a play session with Brian, the child can request a specific task or function - either by verbal command: "Hey Brian, look up word!" or by scrolling through a function list on the hand-held keypad. Likewise, Brian can be put to "sleep" or engaged in Room Guard duty.

An integrated speaker-phone is a unique and powerful feature: just plug Brian into a standard telephone wall jack outlet, and he'll become your personal operator! A verbal command: "Brian, phone call!" or key entry will prompt the toy to go to the phone mode, where he asks for the name of the person to call, looks up that person's contact info in the owner's data-base, and places the call. True to his wise-guy personality, Brian will interrupt the phone conversation with wacky sound FX and silly comments.

Brian can also be used as a music player - plug him into any MP3 player and listen to your favorite tunes through the on-board speaker. Brian's giant brain even provides a great light show, with the multi-colored LED's flashing in time to the music.

Features:

*Integrated speaker-phone
*Retractable hand-held keypad
*Voice recognition - Brian knows who you are!
*"It's Alive!" moving eyes
*Text-to-speech software for almost unlimited vocabulary
*Massive data content: Concise Encyclopedia from Britannica™, dictionary, world history timeline
*MP3 jack and integrated speaker
*Games, trivia (over 10,000 trivia facts), and jokes
*Digital clock/calendar/personal organizer
*Room Guard with motion sensor

Look, Style and Personality

Brian is basically a big brain locked up in a crystal dome - think "Mars Attacks". 1960's-era Star Trek or Dexter's Lab-style Saturday morning cartoons. The hand-held keypad is a cross between a Blackberry and a PSP, with a large LCD screen and built-in microphone. Brian has a bit of a split personality: on the one hand, he'll provide precise answers to information requests from the encyclopedia, history or dictionary databases, on the other hand he just may challenge you to a burping contest! A huge bank of sound FX and funny expressions are outputted randomly to add to his off-the-wall character.

Requires 4 AA batteries.
