Imagine finding a dinosaur bone or a pot that has been buried for many thousands or even millions of years. Not everyone can go to exotic places to participate in reseach that unearths historical artifacts. Our expedition kits give children the sense of wonder that comes from the type of discovery a scientist experiences in the field. It does take time and patience to carefully expose items encased in hard rock or in this case plaster. By digging carefully, identifying, and coloring these artfacts they are ready for display in your home museum.

What is exciting about archeology is that it makes early history come alive. These digs are especially good for kinetic (hands on) learners. They inspire the child to want to learn more.

Parents should place a mat or piece of newspaper under the dig.  Expect your child to need several sittings to fully excavate and assemble the display. This product helps children develop patience because of the intriguing outcome.
